Latest NewsAmerican and Palestinian Business Non-Profit Regroups to Address Growing Business Challenges in Palestine
United States/Palestine (September 3, 2024) – The board of directors for Americans of a Vibrant Palestinian Economy (AVPE), a non-profit organization based in Illinois, successfully concluded a virtual board meeting aimed at regrouping to address the growing business challenges in Palestine. The board elected new officers, and a reevaluation process was started that will revisit the essence of AVPE’s work, which is to link the Palestinian and American business communities to help bridge the knowledge gap and support Palestinian business success. In light of the horrific damage being done to the Palestinian economy this task is daunting, but extremely important to Palestinians’ continued existence in Palestine. The new officers are Arnold R. Cowan (Ames, Iowa), Chair; Nisreen S. Musleh (Ramallah, Palestine), President; Matt Ley (Kenosha, Minnesota), Treasurer; Geoffrey H. Lewis (Boston, Massachusetts), Secretary; and Tareq Tamimi (Hebron, Palestine), Member. Two vacant board seats are planned to be filled before the end of the year. |
